OudLink's primary plantation is located on red-earth hills outside Maoming, Guangdong — over a hundred hectares of cultivated Aquilaria sinensis under CITES registration. Founded in 2008 with roughly a thousand saplings, the original cohort has matured into the first commercial harvest, and rolling replanting maintains continuous productive yield. The plantation hosts our distillation facility and CITES export office on-site.
Why Maoming
Maoming sits in subtropical Guangdong, with red lateritic soil and a climate that aligns with Aquilaria sinensis's native range. The combination of sufficient rainfall, well-drained hill slopes, and the species' historical regional presence makes Maoming one of the more suitable Chinese terroirs for plantation-scale cultivation.
Plantation operations
The plantation runs a sapling nursery, planting cycles, induced-resin program, harvest crews, and an on-site sorting and grading hall. Adjacent buildings house hydro-distillation, oil aging cellars, sample archives, and the CITES paperwork office. Visitors familiar with vineyards will recognise the operational pattern: long cycle, continuous replanting, vintage-by-vintage variability.
