Hydro-distilled in our own workshop, lab-verified, ready for global brands.

OudLink hydro-distills oud oil at our Maoming facility from our own Aquilaria sinensis plantations — premium, standard, and commercial grades, aged on-site for between 6 and 36 months depending on tier. Oil is shipped under CITES export permit with Certificate of Analysis on request, in 5 ml / 10 ml / 20 ml glass vials with tamper-evident seals. MOQ from 5 ml premium / 20 ml commercial.

Distillation method

Hydro-distillation — wood is soaked, heated in copper-alloy stills, condensed, and separated. Slow extraction at controlled temperature preserves the volatile sesquiterpenes that define quality oud. Premium oils are double-distilled and aged in glass for extended periods before bottling. We do not blend with carrier oils unless explicitly requested for a custom order.

Three grades

Premium — double-distilled, aged 18–36 months, deep base, long dry-down. MOQ 5 ml. Suited for niche perfumery, attar blending, royal gift markets.

Standard — single-distilled, aged 6–18 months. MOQ 10 ml. Suited for fragrance houses, mid-tier attars, blended commercial use.

Commercial — single-distilled, fresh-aged. MOQ 20 ml. Suited for fragrance bases, mass-market scenting, industrial applications.

Documentation per shipment

CITES export permit · Certificate of Analysis on request (GC-MS available against fee) · MSDS · phytosanitary if required by destination · commercial invoice and packing list · airway bill or bill of lading. Bilingual EN/AR documentation for Gulf-bound shipments by default.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between hydro-distilled and CO2-extracted oud?
Hydro-distillation uses water and heat — traditional, captures the smoky-deep profile prized in Arab perfumery. CO2 extraction is cleaner-smelling, more "wood-forward", preferred by some Western perfumers. We hydro-distill exclusively.
How long does oud oil keep?
Properly stored (sealed glass, away from light and heat) hydro-distilled oud oil improves with aging and remains stable for decades. We have reference batches in our cellar from the early years still in fine condition.
Can you provide a Certificate of Analysis?
Yes. GC-MS analysis available on request against a fee, typically 5–10 business days turnaround. Standard shipments include compositional summary; full GC-MS is opt-in.
Do you cut with carrier oils?
Not by default. All listed oils are 100 % oud unless explicitly noted. Custom blends with DPG, fractionated coconut oil, or other carriers can be quoted on request.
How is oud oil packaged for export?
Glass vials with tamper-evident caps, individually boxed, secondary packaging is double-wall cardboard. Air freight via DHL/FedEx with appropriate dangerous-goods labelling where required. We ship oud oil weekly to the Gulf without incident.
